Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on the 28th of October, 1967 to Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Julia Fona Roberts is the fourth generation of Roberts living in Atlanta. She inherited her father's interest in theatre from an early stage. As studying at Emory University in 1952 he acted in productions on campus and in Atlanta. He joined the Air Force in 1953 and, while working in Biloxi Mississippi was cast in an army production that featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was part of the Air force. They got married in 1955. Their first child, Eric Anthony, was born in the year 1956. Walter along with his wife quit the Air Force in after which they began enrolment with Walter in Tulane University. Walter was employed by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. The family moved in 1960 and relocated into Decatur Georgia. Walter and Betty Lou produced a Saturday matinee local TV show for children named Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. It was a venture that they funded themselves. The Actors and Writers Workshop was founded in 1964 and ran for six years. They also had Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) as well as Julia (also known as Julie) at the time.
