
Allison Brooks Janney was born on the 19th of November, 1959. [2] She is an American actor. Her performances on screen and the stage have been a hallmark of her career that spanned thirty years. Janney was awarded numerous awards, including an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. Her work earned seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney has also been nominated for at least two Tony Awards. Janney was raised within Dayton and Boston by her parents, received a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to further her education after graduating Kenyon College. After years of minor and not-credited appearances on television and film, Janney's breakthrough came with the part of C. J. Cregg in the NBC The West Wing, a political thriller The West Wing (1999-2006) and for which she was awarded four Primetime Emmy Awards.
